DELHI or NEW DELHI, PURANI DILLI or DIL WALLO KI DILLI…for me everything amalgamates to one beat which dances on the tunes of my HEART. My heart that belongs to Delhi goes way back in time chirping tales from my childhood days. For me, this place is HOME, where stories of my Neev took place providing Comfort, Reassurance, Warmth, Carefree school-life giggles, and proximity to dreams. But, for Millions of Indians it may not be the same, so let’s discuss what’s so special and magnetic about the CAPITAL CITY OF INDIA.

Delhi, which has come miles ahead of its history, not only roars POWER but has been successful in retaining its rich CULTURE throughout the multi-dimensional transformation in the last 2 decades. From keeping the people’s faith intact in politics, journalism, food diversity, and religion Delhi is known to be one of the topmost powerful cities in the world. The walls of each Monument that stand thick and strong in prominence to Delhi make it interestingly poetic, picturesque, and a chamber of historic civilization, dynasties, and rulers.

Delhi’s unique blend of traditional and cosmopolitan style leaves the city dotted with some breath-taking historic forts, botanical gardens, auditoriums, places of worship, eateries from the time of Indo-Pak partition; while its historic significance is well read by UNESCO too. Its distinctive projection of the finest Mughal and Islamic architecture and a subtle style of the British period embedded in its structural buildings is evidently eye candy for the visitors.

Speaking of Power and Polities, Delhi is a host of some leading publication houses, well-developed sports, and recreational facilities post hosting Asian Games in 1982. So, what makes Delhi even more fulfilling?

Its diversity of food culture and the love for food all Delhiites have. It's not a coincidence why people refer to Delhi as Delhi-Belly. Delhi’s food culture is a mix of different traditions and cultures from the past. As people from different places came and settled in, the city acquired the identity of all the types of people living in it. The most famous being the Mughlai cuisines from the Mughal Era. The list is never-ending as we drool upon the loaded Parathas of the Parathe wali Galli in Chandini Chowk, Kebabs, the famous Butter Chicken or Chaats best found on old streets of Delhi, the capital city has known rightly to touch every chord of our Hearts.

As I say this, it does touch those hidden feelings within every time I think of Delhi. Don’t forget to drop your memories from this place and let me know your take on its history too.
